Conversations with Healers is written by Cheyenne MacMasters who received her Masters certification in the Earth Sky Energy Medicine lineage of Reiki in 2000. Cheyenne has been the Head of the Reiki Department of St. Andrew’s Children’s Clinic in Nogales, Arizona since 2004. This once a month clinic has been in existence for almost 40 years and serves children with various disabilities who live in Mexico. Cheyenne’s clients at the clinic include those who have cerebral palsy, autism disorders, Rett’s Syndrome, epilepsy, Down’s Syndrome, are recovering from surgery, etc.

Cheyenne was also the founding president of the Bisbee Wellness Initiative from 2007 through 2011. This continues to be a free once a month complementary and alternative therapies clinic located in Bisbee, Arizona and offers a variety therapies including Reiki, Acupuncture, Sound Therapy, Massage, Spiritual Response Therapy, 7th Chakra counseling, Deeksha blessings, and more.

The Rodeo-Chediski major wildlands fire in northern Arizona in 2002 gave Cheyenne the opportunity to provide Reiki to firefighters and their support teams at the dispatch center in Eager, Arizona and Incident Command camp in Heber, Arizona where she was given a contract as a Reiki therapist in the Medical Unit. Working with the same clients over several days was a major learning experience in discovering how Reiki alleviated the symptoms of various disabilities including fibromyalgia, muscle cramps, bunions, knee pain, sprains, “the horse kicked me”, etc.

The following summer in 2003, Cheyenne was hired by the Mexican/American pro baseball league team in Bisbee to provide Reiki to the baseball players. Working in a limited time frame between innings during games, Cheyenne discovered that the most important accomplishment of a therapy session was to free the body from clenching. Once “opened” the body’s natural healing could take over. The professional sports medicine coach and Cheyenne developed a very effective working system which saw their players returning to the field of play sooner and stronger than expected.

Cheyenne is now exploring the phenomenon of orbs in photographs. For more information, please visit Orbs Delight.

Cheyenne is also happy to be contributing articles on orbs and healing to the on-line magazine 2bAware.

    • Hello Cheyenne it sounds like you are doing a very good job of spreading wellness where you live. There is a real need for youngsters to express themselves and de-stress, Reiki and other therapies have their place. Unfortunately, although like myself there are many practitioners in the UK, I don’t think people think of the holistic world and natural healing as being a benefit until they actually NEED it and many in my area pooh pooh it,and probably think I am crazy! Enjoyed your post on Orbs too! Reiki happy blessings! Keep up the good work!

      • Thank you for your note, Sue. I very much enjoyed your post on kite flying. Working in clinics is a great way to spread the good news of complementary therapies. I also enjoy the look of wonder and relaxation when a person experiences energy therapy for the first time. Several years ago, friends and I started a free monthly clinic to introduce complementary and alternative therapies to our town. People now travel a couple of hours to receive Reiki, acupuncture, massage, sound therapy, etc. The clinic still continues and is held in a church hall. The benefits to clients and volunteers have been far ranging. All are welcome and therapists have the opportunity to work with a great variety of people they wouldn’t normally encounter. I highly recommend this clinical approach to increasing awareness in communities. If you are ever interested in forming a similar clinic I would be happy to coach you. No need to completely re-invent the wheel!
